  5. correlation between the Sun's trek across the ecliptic 
  6. and the changing seasons. The power of the sun was 
  7. very real as it determined whether crops would succeed
  8. or fail; it didn't take a great leap of faith to 
  9. presume that the heavens controlled life (and man's 
  10. fate) on Earth.
